Technical Information about this website’s accessibility
Aberystwyth University is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
There are a number of links on the news page with the same “Continue reading…” text, that link to different posts. This could be confusing to people using assistive technology. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context). Unfortunately this is something that is built into the WordPress system and we cannot change it.
Some videos embedded in our pages do not have captions. This means that people with hearing impairments may not be able to understand the video. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded).
Some documents are only available in PDF format. This can mean that people cannot enlarge text in the document without needing to scroll left to right to read it. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.10 Reflow.
The Events page form does not have labels set correctly for some fields. This can mean that it’s not clear to people filling out the form what data they should enter into the field. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
