Former First Minister to discuss Wales’ constitutional future

Wales’ former First Minister will discuss the constitutional future of Wales at a talk at Aberystwyth University later this month.

Dr Anwen Elias and The Right Honourable Carwyn Jones will consider the work of the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales and the recommendations set out in its final report.

The dialogue between the two experts will examine what we can learn from the Commission’s approach in talking about constitutional issues, and discuss what we can expect to happen next.

Dr Anwen Elias, Co-Director of Aberystwyth University’s Centre for Welsh Politics and Society and a member of the constitutional commission, said:

“There’s been much discussion recently about the constitutional future of Wales and the UK; this is a chance to take stock of different proposals for constitutional reform and consider what – if anything – might change after the next General Election.”

The event takes place on Monday 13 May in the Main Hall of the International Politics Building on the University’s Penglais Campus (SY23 3FL).

It is hosted jointly by Aberystwyth University’s Centre for Welsh Politics and Society (CWPS) and The Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales.

Refreshments will be served from 6pm, followed by the discussion and Q&A from 6.30pm. The event is free and open to all.  Places can be registered at:
