Up for a challenge? Can you take 4 photographs that reflect how you think and feel about independence?

We’re a project using photography to explore how people think and feel about independence in Wales, Scotland and Catalonia.

We’re organising a session in Galeri Caernarfon on Saturday 30.9.23 between 10.00 and 12.00 where photographers will share their 4 photos on the theme of independence, and explain why they selected the photos as part of a group discussion.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided!

We’d also like to do follow-up interviews with individuals, to talk more about their photos and how they think and feel about the issue of independence.

Who can take part?

Anyone interested in photography can take part in this session but numbers are limited.

This project is non-partisan and does not promote a particular position on independence. We welcome contributions from participants with different viewpoints on independence, as well as from those who have not thought about the issue at all.

What do I do if I’m interested?

We’ll give you more information about the project and practical guidance once you register. You’ll be asked to upload and share your photos with us by 18.00 on Wednesday 27 September.

What will happen to my photographs?

We’re planning photography exhibitions in Cardiff and Barcelona, which will feature a selection of the photos produced during this project – including some of the photos from this session.

The project is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and is part of the ESRC/WISERD Civil Society Research Centre. For further information about the project, please contact Dr Elin Royles: ear@aber.ac.uk
